Starting Your Rotation


1. Before your orientation: Everyone 
a. Sign up for your new ACE4CUS ID Number to get credit for your required scans, quizzes and tests on our FOAMed learning site WWW.ACE4CUS.COM

2. Rotation focus by Specialty and Level of Training: 
a. EM Residents, M4's and PA Residents: 
Please review in detail the US Rotation Info. M4's and PA Residents, you are considered EM1's for your rotation. For returning rotators as well as EM2's and beyond, be sure to complete your Pre-Rotation Scan Numbers form. Then start the learning for your rotation on the ACE4CUS Rotation Page.
e. For MICU Fellows:
Please review in detail the MICU EM US PGY-5 Fellow Rotation Info. Then go to WWW.ACE4CUS.COM. Complete the readings and quizzes on the pages for Physics and Machine Use, Echo and Resus (Basic Cardiac Only), Thoracic, DVT and Procedural (Central Venous Access Only).  
f. For PEM Fellows:
Go to WWW.ACE4CUS.COMComplete the readings and quizzes on the pages for Physics and Machine Use, Trauma, Soft Tissue and MSK and Pediatric 
g. For Trauma and TICU Fellows: 
Go to WWW.ACE4CUS.COM. Complete the readings and quizzes on the pages for Physics and Machine Use, Echo and Resus (Basic Cardiac Only), Thoracic, DVT and Procedural (Central Venous Access Only). 
h. Credentialing Letters: 
If needed, then be sure to submit 25 exams for each specific application to our QPath QA system to earn your Clinical Ultrasound credentialing letter.

2. Hands On Orientation:
a. For EM residents, typically is Wednesday after conference.
b. For M4's, PA Students/Residents, as well as MICU, PEM, Trauma fellows your orientation is the first day of your rotation in the ED Red Team Conference Room.
b. We will start by reviewing the rotation info, your Pre-Rotation Scan numbers, and completing a baseline SDOT assessment of your skills.


Finishing Your Rotation


1. By the last AM of your rotation: Complete all required quizzes, and end of rotation test, and your Post-Rotation Scan Numbers form for EM Residents on the ACE4CUS Blog.

2. Hands on Check Out: We will complete an end of rotation SDOT assessment of you skills the last afternoon of your rotation. Then we will review your work and complete your New Innovations or other evaluation together.

3. Help Us Help You! Complete an Evaluation of your rotation or anything Ultrasound.

Until Boards are over, fellow scanning days should only be 4 hours. Please schedule your hours to assist with division teaching efforts.

Friday - Academic Day with Dr. Cone. Fellows be sure to bring your macs!
